Job summary

Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital Needham, Inc. is seeking a Registered Nurse to provide direct and indirect patient care, health maintenance, teaching and counseling, and rehabilitation in collaboration with physicians and the care team.

The RN will work with multidisciplinary staff to deliver high-quality, cost-effective care, follow plan of care, and uphold patient rights, privacy and dignity while supporting family education and discharge planning.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in nursing required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred.
• Current Massachusetts Registered Nurse Licensure.
• 0–1 years related work experience; previous experience preferred.
• BLS-AHA required for all RNs in Direct Patient Care Areas or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS-AHA required in all critical care areas (ED, ICU, ENDO, Float, Radiology, PACU) or obtained within 60 days of hire.
• PALS-AHA required in ED/Float or obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Experience with computer systems required, including web-based applications and some Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access).

• Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the population groups of patients regularly served; seeks assistance from resources if other population groups need care.
• As required, performs patient teaching and provides care to patients in accordance with plan of care and practice standards.
• Provides care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patients' rights, autonomy, dignity and confidentiality.
