Job summary
Trinity Health in Des Moines seeks an experienced nursing educator to develop courses and nursing programs, and to provide classroom instruction. You will act as an expert practice nurse, offering leadership at the unit and organizational levels, while mentoring staff and shaping education initiatives.
You will oversee onboarding, translate research into practice, and ensure alignment with Iowa Nurse Practice Act and Joint Commission standards.
Qualifications
- Current State of Iowa licensed RN.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing required or actively enrolled in an MSN program.
- Degree in Nursing Education preferred.
- Master's Degree must be obtained within five years of hire.
- Minimum three years acute care clinical nursing experience.
Responsibilities
- Functions as an expert clinician in a nursing specialty.
- Assesses and plans patient- and population-based programs of care.
- Develops educational plans and learning resources.
- Provides orientation/education for staff, students, and community groups.
- Oversees onboarding and orientation for new hires.
- Mentor to develop preceptors and colleagues.
