Job summary

Cherry County Hospital & Clinic in Valentine, NE seeks an Education Director (RN) to lead and track education and competency across clinical and non-clinical staff. This full-time exempt role coordinates educational opportunities and professional development while aligning with hospital quality standards.

The Education Director partners with clinical leadership, HR, and IT to implement training, maintains certifications (ACLS/BLS/PALS/NRP/TNCC), and ensures onboarding and ongoing staff

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited nursing program.
• Nebraska RN license in good standing.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, TNCC or within six months of hire.
• Instructor certification in ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP and TNCC or within one year from date of hire.

Responsibilities

• Promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
• Schedules and coordinates patient educational opportunities.
• Provides educational leadership to enhance care within the facility.
• Coordinates with Quality Director to provide staff education to improve quality of care through monthly Quality Assurance.
• Responsible for assigning and tracking all hospital educational and competency certifications including HealthStream.
• Instructs or coordinates all required nursing education courses including ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and TNCC.
• Implements educational strategies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Coordinates in-service training and workshops for appropriate staff.
• Organizes and facilitates employee annual trainings.
• Identifies and coordinates educational opportunities outside of the facility.
• Acts as liaison between hospital and local/higher education schools.
• Collaborates with Human Resources with onboarding and orientation of newly hired employees.
• Collaborates with Human Resources, IT Informatics and department heads for training needs.
• Knowledgeable of and committed to practicing Corporate Compliance policies and procedures.
• Complies with Cherry County Hospital personnel policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
