Job summary

Mercy Hospital is seeking a Weekend Nights, Full Time RN to join the Emergency Department at Mercy Hospital - W Memorial Rd. The role involves providing patient care using the nursing process, coordinating with other departments, and maintaining patient rights and confidentiality.

Note that this position does not accept new graduate applications. Qualifications include graduating from an accredited nursing program, current RN license (state or compact), and the ability to meet physical demands

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program.
• Current RN license in hiring state or compact licensure.
• Physical requirement: ability to lift 50 pounds, stand and walk for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care and maintain accountability for assigned patients.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments while protecting patient rights and confidentiality.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required
