Job summary

Mercy is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse for weekend night shifts in the Emergency Department. You will provide patient care using the nursing process, maintain patient rights and confidentiality, and coordinate with other departments to ensure seamless care.

With responsibility for evaluating the care provided by the team, you’ll support a compassionate healing ministry and contribute to innovative care delivery in a busy ED setting. Must have RN licensure and BLS certification.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program.
• Must hold a current RN license in the hiring state or compact licensure.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or will complete within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care using the nursing process and maintain accountability for care delivery.
• Coordinate patient care with other departments and ensure patient rights and confidentiality.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of care provided by direct care givers and support team.

Overview:

Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care. Maintains professional accountability for provision of patient care for the assigned patients. Evaluates the overall effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers. Coordinates the patient care in conjunction with other departments. Maintains patient rights and confidentiality of patient information.

Qualifications:

• Education: Graduate of an accredited registered professional nursing program
• Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.
• Physical requirements/demands: Position requires individuals to push, pull, and/or lift 50 pounds on a regular basis. Position requires prolonged standing and walking each shift. Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties
• Certifications: Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire. Other unit specific certifications as required
