Overview

St. Joseph Health – Bryan/College Station Navasota Caldwell Madisonville TX. Since 1936, St. Joseph Health has been caring for the communities in and surrounding the Brazos Valley. We have a Level III Trauma Center, the first Joint Commission certified Primary Stroke Center, and the first accredited Chest Pain Center in the Brazos Valley. St. Joseph Health is a leader in critical care and the largest provider of cardiovascular care in the region. As an integrated healthcare system, St. Joseph Health includes a comprehensive network of over 100 employed providers, including primary care physicians, specialists, and advanced practice clinicians. The network features more than 30 ambulatory clinics offering primary care, Express Clinics, and imaging and diagnostic services.

Responsibilities

Responsible for delivering excellence in patient care through assessing, formulating nursing diagnoses, establishing goals, planning and implementing interventions, and evaluating patient care outcomes. The nurse will participate in maintaining quality, cost-effectiveness, and guest relations, providing patient care in compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards as defined by the Board of Nurse Examiners for the State of Texas.

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  1. Utilize the nursing process to ensure appropriate patient care that is cost-effective, quality-driven, and patient-focused. Collect pertinent social, psychological, developmental, and spiritual data from patients, significant others, and other healthcare team members.
  2. Perform ongoing assessments, formulate nursing diagnoses and goals, plan appropriate interventions, and evaluate the outcomes of interventions.
  3. Consistently document in patient and unit records according to system standards to meet legal and quality care requirements.
  4. Provide appropriate teaching and information to patients and families, including pain management, nutrition, skin integrity, fall prevention, diabetes, disease processes, smoking cessation, and discharge instructions.
  5. Demonstrate commitment to the goals and values of the patient, hospital, community, and nursing profession through cost containment, maintaining confidentiality, ethical decision-making, and ensuring patient safety.
  6. Use research-based interventions as appropriate for the patient population, participate in research activities, identify research opportunities, and collaborate with Outcomes managers and departments.
  7. Participate in quality of care activities, evaluate nursing practice quality and effectiveness, assist in collecting quality data, analyze data, and develop action plans to improve care quality.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience

Associate's Degree in Nursing

Required Licensure and Certifications

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Texas; BLS; may also require ACLS and PALS depending on location assignment.

Pay Range

$32.00 - $46.25 per hour
