Sentara Port Warwick Ambulatory Emergency Department in Newport News, VA is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Emergency Department. New grads welcome; Nurse Residency Program and Education Assistance (BSN) and loan repayment available.

Primary duties include assessing/admitting patients, rounding checks, giving medications, talking with families, and ensuring overall patient care. As a Sentara RN, you will be part of a collaborative team with a focus on high-quality emergency care in a busy ED

Qualifications

• Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
• RN degree (Associate, Bachelor, Diploma or Master) and eligibility to practice.

Responsibilities

• Assess and admit patients in the ED.
• Perform rounds and patient checks.
• Administer medications per physician orders.
• Communicate effectively with patients’ families.
• Provide overall care and ensure patient safety in a fast-paced ED.
