Job Summary and Qualifications

The Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high-quality, patient-centered care in accordance with the department's specific requirements and the scope and standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. In collaboration with medical providers and other care team members, the RN provides individualized, comprehensive, and compassionate care using established nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN serves as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, and models a commitment to the organization’s vision, mission, and values to support an unparalleled patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.

  • Assesses patient pain regularly to promote effective pain management, including reassessments after appropriate interventions.
  • Performs procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by medical providers. Documents the administration of care in the patient medical record in a timely and thorough manner.
  • Provides exceptional care by responding promptly to patient requests, anticipating needs, and resolving issues proactively.
  • Educates patients, families, and caregivers about the patient’s medical condition, treatment plan, medications, possible side effects, and follow-up measures. Translates complex medical terminology to ensure complete understanding.
  • Teaches patients, families, and caregivers about non-medicinal follow-up measures, such as healthy diet and exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes. Prepares patients and families for future self-management.
Qualifications Needed:
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) must be obtained within 18 months of employment start date.
  • Registered Nurse license.
  • Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (ENPC) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) must be obtained within 60 months of employment start date.
  • Associate Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing.
