Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• 1–2 years Med/Surg experience with Mother/Baby education or new graduate with L&D practicum
• Registered Nurse: WA license at hire
• Basic Life Support (BLS CPR) at hire
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program within 6 months
• Preferred: BSN and Mother-Baby experience, or Electronic Fetal Monitoring experience

Responsibilities

• Adheres to department and hospital policies, safety, risk management and regulatory standards.
• Administers and documents medications as ordered by the healthcare practitioner and in accordance with hospital policy.
• Assesses patient including physical, psychosocial, cultural, behavioral/emotional, developmental and spiritual needs; gathers data and plans care.
• Demonstrates cultural sensitivity and competence in communication with diverse patient populations.
• Demonstrates professional growth and self accountability to meet mandatory requirements.
• Documents care and patient status using the nursing process and follows physician orders for changes in condition and discharge planning.
