Are you an experienced nursing leader (RN) looking to make a meaningful impact in long-term care? Elderwood at Grand Island, a long-term care facility in Western New York, is seeking a dedicated Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our team of healthcare professionals.

The RN - Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for:

• Overall nurse staffing, staff training and development, and management of personnel in the Nursing Services Department
• Quality of nursing care assessment, planning, documentation, and service provision to residents
• Coordination of medical and pharmaceutical services with the Medical Director, Pharmacy Consultant, and Vendor Pharmacy
• Proper placement for resident care, in cooperation with staff and Attending Physician
• Coordination of interdisciplinary healthcare services
• Participation in Quality Management activities for ongoing improvement

Responsibilities

• Handle orientation and job training for nursing staff
• Hire, terminate, and discipline staff as necessary; conduct exit interviews
• Develop and oversee orientation and training programs
• Develop ongoing in-service training
• Serve as Program Coordinator for Nurse Assistant Training Program
• Review personnel information and assist with disciplinary actions

Qualifications
