Job summary

Progeny Human Resource Solutions is seeking an RN Director for a Free-Standing Emergency Room in a full-time capacity in the Charleston area. The role leads the emergency services program, enforces care standards, and drives patient experience improvements through staff development and PI initiatives.

The candidate will oversee compliance with regulatory requirements, participate in leadership committees, and mentor future leaders while ensuring operational excellence in a demanding ED

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
• Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, or related field is preferred.
• 3+ years of experience in emergency services is required.
• 3+ years of experience in a leadership role is required.
• Licensed as a registered nurse in the practicing state is required.
• ACLS certification is required.
• PALS or ENPC certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Identify real/potential problems affecting service and implement solutions with follow-through and communication.
• Participate in service, departmental and hospital-wide committees with ongoing communication to stakeholders.
• Advance the patient experience agenda in the Emergency Department.
• Coach subordinates, provide feedback, develop staff, and document performance.
• Adhere to Human Resource policies and communicate department information to staff.
• Facilitate evidence-based employee engagement practices.
• Build relationships to deliver department goals and participate in rounding to mentor future leaders.
• Enforce ED care standards and develop processes to measure compliance.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate an emergency services program ensuring quality care aligned with hospital mission.
• Monitor regulatory, accrediting, and hospital policy compliance for patient services and safety.
• Oversee a PI program to monitor and evaluate care.
• Ensure operational excellence and adherence to policies and professional standards.
• Follow Hospital Exposure Control Plans for bloodborne and airborne pathogens.
