Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited nursing program and provide direct patient care.
• RI State Licensure is required.
• BSN or enrollment in a BSN program is required for external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care including examination and treatment under protocol.
• Utilize nursing process to implement goal-directed care.
• Monitor patient condition and report changes.
• Educate patients and families about condition, treatment and follow-up.
• Perform nursing skills per physician orders and hospital policy.
• Communicate with physicians and departments to ensure continuity of care.
• Respond to emergencies per established procedures.
• Maintain medical records with accurate documentation.
• Provide clinical leadership and assist in orientation of new staff.
• Assume resource nurse responsibilities when needed.
• Pursue professional development through seminars and journals.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
