Job summary

PIH Health Downey Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Dialysis to provide dialysis care for acute inpatients in accordance with MD orders, hospital policy and CMS guidelines.

You will monitor patients during dialysis, respond to emergent changes, supervise dialysis technicians, and collaborate with the nursing and medical teams to prioritize dialysis treatment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a California RN license and BSN.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 2 years of dialysis nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide dialysis for acute inpatients (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis) as ordered.
• Monitor patients during dialysis and assess emergent changes; communicate with patient, primary RN, and MD.
• Supervise dialysis technicians and delegate tasks as appropriate.
• Collaborate with nursing and medical staff to determine patient clinical status and dialysis priority.

Job description

The Registered Nurse (RN) Dialysis Nurse is responsible and accountable for providing dialysis (hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis) for acute inpatients, in accordance with MD orders, hospital policy, and CMS guidelines. Dialysis Registered Nurse will monitor patients during dialysis, assess any emergent changes in condition and communicate with the patient, primary RN, and MD. RN will supervise dialysis technicians and delegate appropriately. In addition, RN will collaborate with the nursing and medical staff to determine the patient's clinical status and priority for dialysis treatment.
