Description

Provides direct patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Essential Functions

  • Performs care interventions, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, and other medical care.
  • Documents patient care given.
  • Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition to care team, physician, patient, and family.
  • Assists patients with activities of daily living, including hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
  • Collaborates across disciplines for patient care coordination, transfers, discharges, referrals, and psychosocial support.
  • Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
  • Acts as an advocate for the patient's physical and emotional well-being.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: Active Tennessee RN license or Compact State RN license with intent to obtain Tennessee RN license within 30 days of hire.
  • Required Skills: Critical thinking, decisive judgment, ability to work with minimal supervision, and ability to handle stressful environments.
  • Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 days of hire.
