Job summary

ProMedica Regional Hospital in Defiance, Ohio, seeks a Registered Nurse for the Psychiatric Unit on a per-diem basis. You will coordinate patient care, assess needs, plan, implement and evaluate care with the health care team to improve outcomes.

Qualifications

• Current State license as a Registered Nurse.
• Current CPR training. Specialty certifications as required by individual nursing units.
• The RN in Ohio must complete twenty-four contact hours of continuing education during his/her licensure period. At least 1 hour of contact hours must be related to Chapter 4723 of the Ohio nurse practice code and rules.
• Maintains BCLS and other certifications required by the job, i.e., ACLS.

• Apply the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served (i.e.: infant, pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric) as written in the departmental standards.
• Utilize appropriate techniques necessary to control / prevent infections.
• Employ critical thinking skills and sound judgment in all aspects of care.
• Initiates emergency care, as necessary.
• Addresses patient/family education needs considering patient level of comprehension, style of learning, and discharge needs.
• Follows proper chain of command when issues/problems arise and demonstrates appropriate follow-through.
• Displays professionalism at all times and maintains patient confidentiality.
• Demonstrates sound clinical skills and judgment.
• Ability to critique own daily practice for error and pursue corrective action.

Job Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is the core of ProMedica’s world-class patient care team.
