Job summary

LifeStream Behavioral Center in Florida seeks a Registered Nurse to deliver professional psychiatric nursing care and supervise nursing staff on shift. You will perform assessments, develop care plans, administer medications, and support patients and families while upholding safety and infection control standards.

The RN will participate in interdisciplinary rounds, discharge planning, and ongoing professional development in a dynamic behavioral health setting.

Qualifications

• RN license and graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• 0-3 years of nursing experience, preferably in behavioral health.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental and physical health status on admission and during stay.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
• Administer medications and treatments per established protocols and physician orders.
• Monitor and document patients' progress; report changes to the healthcare team.
• Provide education and support to patients and families regarding treatment plans and medications.
• Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment by following safety protocols and infection control guidelines.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, discharge planning, and care coordination.
• Serve as a resource and mentor to nursing staff, guiding peers as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in behavioral health nursing.

Job Purpose:- The RN position is integral to the efficient functioning of the assigned Unit. They will, by virtue of their role, be responsible for providing professional psychiatric nursing care, via their own task functions and supervision of the task of other nursing personnel on their shift.
