Job summary

Mercy is seeking a part-time nurse for Days at Mercy South. The role involves direct patient care using the nursing process and coordinating with other departments to ensure quality care compliant with Mercy standards.

Applicants must be a graduate of a nursing program and hold an RN license in the hiring state (compact licensure acceptable). BLS is required, with additional certifications often needed depending on the unit.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from a school of nursing (Associate's Degree, Diploma, or BSN).
• Licensure: Currently licensed as an RN in the hiring state or with compact licensure.
• Certifications: BLS required; additional certifications (ACLS, NRP, ENPC, TNCC, C-PHON, OCN, PALS, PEARS, STABLE, C-EFM, and others) may be required based on unit/position.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to provide patient care.
• Maintains professional accountability for care provided to assigned patients.
• Evaluates the effectiveness of care provided by other direct care givers.
• Coordinates patient care with other departments while upholding patient rights and confidentiality.

Qualifications

Licensure: Is personally responsible for obtaining, and maintaining, a current RN license within the hiring state and/or compact licensure in which nursing duties are performed and must meet all state board of nursing requirements.

Certifications

• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or successful completion of course within 30 days of hire.

• C-EFM (Fetal Monitor Certification)
• Other unit-specific certifications as required

Physical Requirements

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
