Baylor The Heart Hospital Dallas is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the Operating Room. This fast-paced unit supports vascular and minimally invasive cardiovascular surgery, with shifts 7a-7p and a three-12-hour shift pattern.

The role requires 1+ year OR RN experience, scrub capability preferred, and opportunities for leadership development; orientation is Monday–Friday during the first week, with weekend call and potential for future full-time placement.

Qualifications

• EXPERIENCE - 1+yr of OR RN Experience Highly prefer an RN who scrubs (Cardiac or Vascular OR experience highly preferred)

Seasonal Commitment Information

• Full-time Seasonal weekly requirements are three 12-hour shifts for the 13-week contract (excludes 1st week of orientation)
• $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive time
• $51 Seasonal rate.
• Eligible for shift differentials. $3.50 for evenings, $5 for nights, and $6 for weekends. These are stackable (as applicable by time/day) so if you worked a weekend night, you would be paid $51 + $5 + $6.
• Weekend requirements are the same as regular FT- Rotating weekends
• The first week is Monday- Friday orientation.
• Although this is a short term (13 week) assignment, you would be a Baylor employee (not contractual, agency, etc.). The hope is that once the assignment is concluded, you will convert to a regular FT, PT, or PRN role.

Operating Room

Shift: 3 12's 7a- 7p

Patient Population: Vascular Surgery, minimally invasive Cardiovascular surgery.

Patient Ratios: 1 RN and 1 tech per case. High Acuity cases may have 2 RNs and 1 tech.

Number of Beds: 4 OR’s

Department Specifics: 95% of RNs have BSN, 60% are Specialty Certified. We have world renown surgeons, we use RNs to scrub, and we can teach you. Involved in the latest innovations, strong practice councils and opportunity for leadership advancement.

Call requirements : are one weeknight every week, one weekend every 6th weekend, and one holiday per year.

Qualifications

Registered Nurse (RN)

Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS or BLS within 30 days of hire or transfer.

Qualifications

• A degree from a recognized nursing program or two years of relevant work experience
• A minimum of (1) one year's experience in the field of nursing
• A valid Registered Nurse license
• The ability to obtain a Basic Life Support certification within the first 30 days of employment.
