- Full‑time Cardiac Surgery Registered Nurse
- Work three 12‑hour day shifts each week
- 2 CVOR Suites, plus an additional 2 hybrid ORs and 22 Main OR suites
- State‑of‑the‑art surgery suites with Da Vinci XI and 5 robots
- Sacred Heart Medical Center at Riverbend is a 350‑bed regional referral hospital with a level II trauma center

- Wage range of $49.30 – $77.46 (increasing to $50.78 – $79.78 in July); rate of pay depends on RN experience and ONA bargaining union agreement

Position Details
Provides professional nursing direct patient care in compliance with professional practice and unit standards. Promotes a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach toward patients, families and all members of the care delivery team.
Essential Functions
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care needs.
- Document patient care in the health‑care record according to established standards.
- Direct and delegate care to other team members in accordance with their education, credentials, and demonstrated competence.
- Ensure own professional effectiveness through education and professional development.
- Participate in the development of and maintain established hospital policies, procedures and objectives, quality improvement, safety, environmental and infection prevention program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- Accredited School of Nursing required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
Experience
- Minimum 1‑year operating room circulating experience in an acute care setting
- Preferred: CVOR experience
- Preferred: at least 2 years circulating RN experience
- Preferred: ability to independently scrub and circulate major cases in a full‑service setting
Credentials
- Oregon Registered Nurse (required)
- Basic Life Support Certification (required)
Skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to apply age‑specific principles of growth and development and life stages to meet each patient’s needs (required)
- Required credentials specific to each unit/department (see community specific document)
- Demonstrated ability to promote positive interpersonal relationships and a patient/family‑centered work environment (required)
- Able to support and interpret medical center philosophy, policy and procedures (required)
- Basic computer skills (required)
Working Conditions
Lifting
- Patient handling not greater than 35 lbs. without assistive equipment (NIOSH)
- Fine motor skills to grasp and control medical equipment and perform precise procedures
- Push/pull: Frequently up to 45 lbs. force (e.g., medical carts)
- Hands‑on CPR: at least 20 mins using 100-125 lbs. of force (National Association of EMS Physicians and AHA); frequency should be seldom or occasionally
- Ability to move around area with frequent sitting
- Bending/stooping/squatting/reaching/kneeling frequently
- Lifting (non‑patient) up to 20 lbs. occasionally and 5 lbs. frequently
Environmental Conditions
- Exposure to biohazard, body fluids and airborne particles
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy environment
Mental and Visual
- Vision and hearing within normal limits (glasses, contacts, hearing aids permitted)
- Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information
