Job summary

Salem Health is seeking an Operating Room Nurse in Salem, OR. This full-time, 40-hour week, non-exempt role offers diverse surgical coverage across a busy Level II Trauma Center and 18 ORs.

You will deliver intraoperative care, support a wide range of specialties, and work within a collaborative, mission-driven team poised for professional growth. Candidates should have a BSN or higher (or ADN with BSN/MSN commitment), BLS, and an OR nursing background.

Qualifications

• BLS certification is required.
• At least one year of operating room nursing experience is expected.
• Current unencumbered RN licensure in Oregon is required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver intraoperative nursing care for elective and emergent procedures.
• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure safe, efficient workflows.
• Perform continual patient assessments before, during, and after procedures.
• Support trauma-level cases as part of a 24/7 coverage team.

Schedule: Staggered shifts between 6:00 am and 7:00 pm, four 10-hour shifts, and variable call coverage

As an Operating Room Nurse at Salem Health, you’ll play a vital role in delivering safe, high-quality surgical care to patients across all ages and backgrounds. Working in one of the busiest Level II Trauma Centers in the Pacific Northwest, you’ll support a wide range of surgical specialties across 18 state-of-the-art ORs—excluding only burn and organ transplants. Whether it’s an elective procedure or an emergent trauma case, your ability to assess, anticipate, and act will directly impact patient outcomes. What you'll do

Required qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BSN) or Bachelor of Arts degree in nursing, or non-nursing bachelor's degree with a Master of Science in nursing (MSN). Candidates with an associate's degree in nursing (ADN) and graduates of a diploma RN program are also encouraged to apply;ADN applicants with less than five years of acute care experience will be required to sign an agreement committing to complete their BSN or MSN degree within three years of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Current unencumbered licensure to practice nursing as a Registered Nurse in the State of Oregon.
• Minimum of one year ofoperating room nursing experience.
