Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) assignment in Michigan. This 13-week travel position requires 3+ years of CVOR and Open Heart experience, active Michigan nursing license, BLS, and ACLS.

Shift is 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM with 12-hour shifts, and call is required on all days worked. The RN will assess patient needs before and during surgery, implement care plans, provide leadership to the OR team, and ensure safety.

Qualifications

• 3+ years CVOR experience required
• Open Heart experience preferred
• Active Michigan Nursing License required

Responsibilities

• Assess needs of surgical patient and develop a plan of care for the CVOR setting.
• Provide leadership to the OR team and communicate with patient, family, and OR staff.
• Prepare equipment, assist anesthesia, monitor sterile field, and coordinate room scheduling.

Description:This position is responsible for assessing the needs of each patient before and during a surgical procedure and maintaining patient safety.The RN outlines individual care plans, implements, evaluates, and documents care of the patient during surgical procedures.Provides leadership to the OR team.Communicates with the patient and family, OR team, supervisor, manager, and ancillary departments.Participates in staff development through preceptorship and continuing education.

Responsibilities:Assesses the needs of the surgical patient and develops a plan of care specific to that patient.Implements and evaluates the plan of care during the procedure and makes necessary adjustments, keeping patient safety a priority.Supervises activity in the room.Anticipates and coordinates any schedule changes for the room.Assembles equipment and supplies.Assists anesthesia as necessary.Monitors the sterile field.Communicates with the patient, family, physician, OR team, supervisor, manager, and ancillary departments.Participates in staff development by attending in-services, educational meetings, staff meetings, and other meetings or seminars for educational opportunities and leadership growth.Call is required on all days worked and weekends.Weekend call is very infrequent.
