Job summary

The Staff Nurse in the Open Heart/Vascular service at CarolinaEast Health System will provide direct patient care, support the nursing division's philosophy, and function as a charge nurse under the Nurse Manager's direction. Experience is preferred.

The role covers a wide surgical service scope within the OR, including Open Heart, vascular and related specialties, with a commitment to high-quality, compassionate care for adults and pediatrics.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an NCBON approved School of Nursing and/or graduate from an approved School of Nursing.
• Current RN license with the North Carolina State Board of Nursing or Compact License recognized by the North Carolina State Board of Nursing.
• Knowledge of current trends and techniques in nursing.
• Possess the ability to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff and all others using proper channels of communication.
• Recognize the importance of being a professional role model for others.
• Maintain current AHA BLS certification.
• Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and function as a charge nurse according to the Nurse Manager's expectations for an assigned shift.
• Implement the philosophies, objectives, standards of care, and policies and procedures of the Nursing Division.
• Collaborate with OR teams across Open Heart/vascular specialties to meet patient care needs.

Job Summary

This position is for the Open Heart/Vascular service. Experience is preferred. The Staff Nurse is responsible for implementing the philosophies, objectives, standards of care, and policies and procedures of the Nursing Division under the direction of the Nurse Manager. The Staff Nurse is responsible for providing direct patient care and functioning as a charge nurse according to the Nurse Manager's expectation for an assigned shift.

The Operating Room has up to 12 anesthesia provided rooms, including 2 Open Heart rooms and 1 Urology room equipped with fluoroscopy. Specialty services include ENT/ORAL, General, Plastic, OB/GYN, Orthopedics, Urology, Thoracic/Vascular, Neurosurgery, Pain, Open Heart, Robotics and endoscopic, and minimally invasive surgery by specialty. The Operating Room strives to meet the surgical needs of the surrounding counties and its physicians by providing compassionate, high quality surgical services ranging from ambulatory procedures to high acuity procedures for adults and pediatrics.

Minimum Requirement
