Job summary

Description:Weekly hours: 40 hours.Start time: 06:45 AM.End time: 05:15 PM.Work days: Rotating days based on an 8-week schedule.Call requirements: 12 shifts, each shift is 12 hours for an 8-week schedule.Unit description: Open heart unit with 8 cardiac operating rooms.Includes 7 cardiac surgeons.Handles 9-16 cases per operative day.More than 2000 cardiac cases are performed each year.Involves open and robotic cardiac surgery.Supports a heart failure and heart transplant program.Each case typically has 1 first assistant, unless both femoral and radial veins are needed.Involves collaboration with a Certified Surgical Technologist, Heart Holder Registered Nurse, and a Circulator.
