Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital in Homewood, AL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to support the Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) team in a full-time role, Monday–Friday with call requirements.

The RN circulates in the OR and provides patient care before, during and after surgery, prepares the OR and instruments, monitors vitals, and coordinates communication to ensure safe, high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
• Current Alabama RN license and BLS certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCC are required for certain areas.
• 1 year experience; CVOR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Circulate in the operating room and provide patient care before, during, and after surgery.

Position Summary

Baptist Health Brookwood Hospital is looking to add a Resgistered Nurse (RN) to work with our Surgery team in our Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR). This will be a Full-time role working Monday-Friday. Call is required for this position.

The RN in this role will circulate in the operating room and is responsible for providing patient care before, during, and after surgery. Their duties include preparing the operating room and sterile instruments, ensuring patient safety and proper positioning, maintaining a sterile environment, and assisting the surgical team during procedures. OR nurses also monitor patients’ vital signs, advocate for patient needs, and coordinate communication between the surgical team and other healthcare staff to ensure efficient and safe surgical outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient’s needs and develops/revises an individualized plan of care based on patient needs and responses. Evaluates the patient’s progress toward attaining expected outcomes.

• Participates and may lead unit level and/or organizational level committees of nursing practice and performance improvement.
• Participates in department and organizational peer review, mentoring, and coaching regarding professional practice or role performance.
• Practices efficient use of supplies and maintains a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Attends staff development in-services, department meetings, and/or nursing committee meetings.
• Partners with the nursing leadership team to identify professional development needs.
• Assumes responsibility for one’s own professional development and continuing education.

Qualifications

Education/Training

• Graduateof an approved school of nursing. Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health unit/department.

Licensure/Certification

• Maintains current State ofAlabamaRN license or valideNLCmultistate RN license
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS, NRP, PALS, and TNCCarerequiredfor certain areas. NRPisrequiredforthe NeonatalIntensive Care Unit (NICU).

Experience

• 1 year experience required unless approved by AVP level or above;
• Prior experience working in an CVOR is strongly preferred
