The Heart Hospital - Plano

  • Shift/Schedule: PRN Nights - 13-week contract, 6:45 PM - 7:15 AM
  • Requirement: Requires a minimum of 2 years CVPCU RN experience

2 CUB Unit

Patient Population: Cardiac and Vascular, including CHF, immediate post-op heart bypass, and valve surgeries (Cardiac Universal Bed model: care for Telemetry, PCU, ICU, and CV patients)

Patient Ratios: 1:4 (Telemetry); 1:3 (PCU); 1:2 (ICU); 1:1 (Immediate post-op or unstable ICU patients connected to specialized devices)

Number of Beds: 20 beds

Department Specifics: Skills leveling, caring for ICU devices (Impella, IABP, CRRT, EKOS, lumbar drain); world-renowned surgeons; magnet hospital; active Unit Based Council.

As a Seasonal RN, you will manage patient care, develop and evaluate care plans, monitor patient progress, and help patients navigate the healthcare system safely to reduce complications. Your expertise will guide patient needs and healthcare environment understanding.

  • Conduct thorough assessments using good judgment and clinical reasoning
  • Identify patient and family needs, develop, implement, and evaluate care plans, making adjustments as needed
  • Create safe, therapeutic environments for patients, families, and staff
  • Manage emotional and physical pain to promote recovery and prevent suffering
