Job summary

ARMStaffing is seeking a Registered Nurse for the ICU in Lubbock, TX, on a 13-week contract, day shift (07:00–19:00) with weekend coverage. The RN will monitor critically ill patients, administer meds, and manage life-support equipment while floating between units as needed.

The role requires 2+ years ICU/trauma/ventilator experience, Texas RN license (or Compact), ACLS and BLS. NIHSS is preferred; Epic charting experience is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of ICU, CV surgery, trauma, and ventilator management experience.
• Current Texas RN license (or Compact) with ACLS & BLS; NIHSS preferred.
• Experience with Epic charting system is required or highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and medical history.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with procedures involving ventilators, chest tubes, and central venous lines.
• Collaborate with healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health issues and post-discharge care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

Schedule/Shift

Day shift, 3x12 hours (07:00 - 19:00) with weekend requirements of 6 weekend shifts to fulfill unit needs.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the Intensive Care Unit will be responsible for providing high-quality care to critically ill patients. This role involves monitoring patient conditions, administering medications, and managing life-support equipment. The RN will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary team and will float between units as needed.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and assess patients' vital signs and medical history.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with procedures involving ventilators, chest tubes, and central venous lines.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health issues and post-discharge care.
• Maintain accurate patient records using the Epic charting system.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in ICU, CV surgery, trauma, and ventilator management.
• Experience with chest tubes, central venous lines, external ventricular drains, and neurosurgery.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current Registered Nurse License in the state of Texas (or current Compact license).
• ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• NIHSS certification is preferred.
