Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot durable mechanical circulatory support devices for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide clinical SME on cardiac devices.

• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure effective patient care and device management.

Job description

Day shift: 5x8 hours (07:00 - 15:00 or 06:30 - 15:30), Monday to Friday. Weekend requirement: 1 weekend per month with 1 weekday of call.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Cardiac Mechanical Support Coordinator with a strong cardiac background. This individual will be responsible for managing and troubleshooting durable mechanical circulatory support devices, including HM 3, Heartware, and BrioVAD, as well as performing duties related to Intra-Aortic Balloon Pumps (IABP) and Impella devices. The coordinator will round on both inpatient and outpatient individuals, providing expertise and support in clinical settings.

Responsibilities

• Manage and troubleshoot durable mechanical circulatory support devices for patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Provide clinical expertise as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on cardiac devices.
• Conduct rounds on patients to assess device performance and patient status.
• Collaborate with healthcare staff to ensure effective patient care and device management.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State RN License.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, with at least 1 year in managing advanced heart failure patients preferred.
• Experience as a VAD Coordinator or in a CTICU is a plus.
• Certifications: BLS required.
• Experience with durable mechanical circulatory support devices, IABP, and Impella devices is essential.
