Registered Nurse (RN) Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) provides high-quality patient care and promotes positive patient outcomes through compassionate and efficient nursing practices. Working under general supervision, the RN coordinates patient care via the nursing process and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams.

  1. Patient Care: Reviews patient needs and conditions to deliver appropriate nursing care, ensuring each patient receives the necessary treatment.
  2. Care Planning: Analyzes patient information—including medical history, diagnostic results, and current condition—to develop individualized care plans.
  3. Procedures: Prepares and administers medications and treatments to provide effective patient care.
  4. Record Keeping: Reconciles medical records to ensure accuracy and compliance with standards and policies.
  5. Evaluation: Monitors patient responses to interventions and adjusts care plans as needed to meet care goals.
  6. Collaboration: Works with the interdisciplinary care team for effective care planning and delivery.
  7. Additional Duties: Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Education:
    • Required: Associate's Degree in Nursing
    • Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
  • Experience:
    • Required: 1 year as a Registered Nurse
    • Preferred: 1 year in a clinical specialty recognized by ANCC or similar organizations
  • Licensure and Certification:
    • Required: RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
    • BLS (CPR) certification from American Red Cross or AHA Healthcare Provider
