Job summary

HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking an experienced RN CV Specialist for the Critical Care CVICU. You will work as staff RN for shifts with Director approval, lead orientation, in-service training and continuing education for the unit, and support organization-wide educational initiatives.

You will coordinate curriculum for advanced cardiac topics and maintain competency-tracking records for VAD/ECMO/ECMO-related training. Strong clinical and teaching skills are essential.

Qualifications

• ACLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• BLS within 30 days of employment start date.
• (RN) Registered Nurse.
• Registered Nurse Diploma.
• CCRN preferred.
• BSN preferred.

Responsibilities

• Works as staff RN for shifts with Director approval.
• Responsible for orientation, in-service training and continuing education.
• Develops and delivers education programs across the CVICU.
• Maintains competency records for unit-based trainings and technologies.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Works as staff RN for shifts assigned as needed with Director approval. Selects appropriate resources to meet specific goals of the department and organization. Responsible for orientation, in-service training and continuing education of all persons in the department. Assists with the development and provision of Organization-wide educational opportunities for staff to learn knowledge and skills investigate new approaches and advance clinical competence. Assists with ACLS classes. Demonstrates principles of adult learning and incorporates them into formal and informal teaching activities. Accepts responsibility for being a resource person for designated clinical expertise to the CVICU through mentoring, precepting, unit rounds, in-services, staff meetings, MOX, and informal opportunities. Facilitates CV service line education for cardiac stepdown/PCU unit in a collaborative and supportive role to stepdown unit leadership. Meets with staff and management as necessary to validate learning needs. Responds appropriately to perceived needs with learning activities, curriculum updates or recommendations to assist with changes. Actively contributes to the development of educational programs. Coordinates unit orientation in conjunction with the Critical Care Course. Recommends and assists in the development of continuing education programs based on assessment of the needs of the unit, to include but not limited to IABP, CRRT, VAD,IMPELLA, ECMO,HYPOTHERMIA and EKG training. Maintains competency-tracking records for all unit based competencies including but not limited to VAD, CRRT, ECMO, HYPOTHERMIA and EKG.

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
