Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse assigned to the Critical Care/Emergency dept (High Acuity) Float Pool receives a $7.50/hour float pool premium.

Virginia Mason Medical Center, recognized among the Best Hospitals in Washington state by U.S. News & World Report, is seeking qualified RNs.

The registered nurse in the Clinical High Acuity Float Pool must be prepared to work across multiple inpatient units (ICU, Progressive Care & ED). This position involves working five 12-hour shifts every two weeks, including every other weekend. RNs in the Float Pool will have opportunities to broaden their scope of practice, develop new skills, and expand their knowledge base. Candidates must be competent to perform independently in at least three units and have at least one year of relevant hospital experience. Proficiency in Telemetry is required within six months of hire.

Qualifications

  • Current WA State RN license
  • One or more years of recent RN experience with critical care patients
  • CPR certification (renewed every two years or as required)
  • Additional certifications may be required for specialty areas
  • Graduation from an accredited nursing program approved by the Washington State Board of Nursing

Preferred: ACLS certification.
