Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking an RN for Correctional Health to provide nursing care in a correctional setting. This role supports geriatric and general residents with medications, assessments, care plans, and collaboration with an interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities include administering medications, conducting initial assessments, developing care plans, supervising staff, and participating in shift reports. Night shift, 12-hour shifts, duration 39.

Responsibilities

• Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of license.
• Receive and deliver information regarding residents' needs.
• Participate in shift reports and communicate with residents, families, and staff to ensure appropriate care.
• Perform initial admission nursing assessments and contribute to MDS assessments and care plans.
• Maintain clinical and administrative documentation for diagnosis, assessments, and progress.
• Lead and supervise subordinate staff and assist with ADLs.
• Participate in staff development and in-service training.
• Support problem solving and continuous improvement in nursing practice.

Description:Administer medication and perform treatments as ordered by the physician and within the scope of license.Receive and deliver a variety of information regarding the resident's needs.Participate in the receiving and giving of shift reports.Communicate with residents, families, and staff as necessary to ensure appropriate care from the interdisciplinary team.Perform the initial admission nursing assessment on newly admitted residents.Assist with the development of the Minimum Data Set assessments, ongoing quarterly reviews, and care plans.Maintain appropriate clinical and administrative documentation regarding diagnosis, assessments, treatment, and summary of client progress.Lead and perform limited supervision of subordinate staff.Assist with direct resident care for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) including bathing, dressing, eating, toileting, personal hygiene, and mobility.Conduct and participate in in-service training and staff development programs.Utilize concepts and tools for problem solving and continuous work/process improvements.Perform other duties as assigned related to the position.Observe and assess the behavior and progress of patients.Develop and carry out patient care plans within a team nursing concept.Build interpersonal relationships.
