Job summary

Cynet HealthStaff is seeking a registered nurse for correctional health duties in North Carolina. The role involves comprehensive assessments, care planning, and medication administration within a secure correctional setting.

The ideal candidate will have an active NC RN license (or compact license with NC eligibility), CPR/BLS certification, and preferably ACLS. Strong clinical skills, communication, and leadership are essential to thrive on a 12-hour shift schedule and rotating 36/48 hour

Qualifications

• Current, valid RN license in North Carolina (or compact with NC eligibility).
• CPR/BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.
• Prior experience in acute care, emergency, or correctional healthcare preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership abilities.
• Ability to work effectively in a secure and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive nursing assessments and develop patient care plans.
• Administer medications, treatments, and medical procedures in accordance with physician orders and nursing standards.
• Respond promptly to medical emergencies, triage patient needs, and provide critical interventions.
• Monitor, evaluate, and document patient responses to treatment.
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare team members to ensure continuity of care.
• Supervise and support LPNs, nursing assistants, and other staff as appropriate.
• Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential medical records.
• Educate patients on health conditions, treatment plans, and preventive healthcare practices.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and security protocols within the correctional environment.
• 7 days a week, On rotation 36/48 hr a week.
