The RN Coordinator - OB, under the general direction of the OB-Gyn Clinic Manager, functions as a core member of the collaborative care team at Aspirus St. Luke's (ASL). The RN Coordinator - OB is responsible for all aspects of care coordination for patients of the OB-Gyn Clinic and providing continuing care when a patient is at the Birthing Center as appropriate. The RN Coordinator - OB will assess the patient and family social/emotional needs and assist with coordination of resources and planning while serving as a liaison between healthcare staff, patient, and community in coordination with ASL's primary and specialty care providers.
The RN Coordinator - OB is responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the MN Hospital Association Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome roadmap, aiming to enhance coordination of services (social services, housing, clothing, transportation, mental health, substance abuse treatment within and across systems of care). This position also implements and oversees proactive and preventative measures for the maternal-child population, including patients in the Birthing Center, Level II NICU, and Pediatrics, ensuring services are available for each family with an infant in the Level II NICU. It collaborates with the System Service Line Administrator, Director of Quality Management, Maternal Child Health Manager, OB/Peds Clinic Manager, and hospital Case Management.
Further duties may include, but are not limited to: working under the medical direction of the Clinic Physicians and the administrative direction of the Clinic Management for accurate and complete triage of patients, assisting Providers in managing clinical patient concerns, and performing tasks such as refills, NSTs, triage, and providing day-to-day support to clinical leadership and staff related to patient care.
Knowledge of current nursing practices for perinatal patients, newborns, and families. Excellent communication skills, ability to work with physicians and care providers, develop partnerships, and work collaboratively. Experience in program development and marketing. Ability to exercise good judgment, maintain confidentiality, and prioritize tasks.
Assessment skills and knowledge of growth and development; providing age-appropriate care.
Ability to see, hear, stand, bend, kneel, walk, lift up to 25 pounds. Physical activity includes standing, walking, sitting, reaching, stooping, bending, and lifting.
Work Environment: Moderate noise level typical of an office setting.
Working Conditions: Exposure to electrical, radiant energy hazards, and blood-borne diseases.
