Job summary

Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC seeks an RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput to ensure timely, coordinated care. You will lead patient placement, triage, EMS handoffs, and transfers, aligning staff with volume and acuity to enable efficient ED operation.

Your role emphasizes safety, quality, and multidisciplinary collaboration, offering clinical guidance, escalation support, and ongoing improvement of care transitions for patients in urgent situations.

Qualifications

• RN license required.
• Bachelor’s degree (or work experience in lieu of degree).
• ACLS/BCLS/ENPC, NIH Stroke Scale, PTLS; TNCC/ PALS as required.
• Strong leadership and care coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Job Summary and Qualifications

As the RN Coordinator for ED Flow/Throughput, you will play a key role in ensuring patients move through the Emergency Department with clarity, clinical support, and thoughtful coordination. By aligning staffing, patient placement, and clinical resources,you’llhelp teams deliver care that is organized, safe, and patient‑centered. And in moments of urgency and complexity, your leadership will keep caregivers connected, supported, and focused on their mission to care for and improve human life.

Your role will include:

• Coordinating patient placement, triage processes, EMS handoffs, and inpatient transfers
• Aligning staffing plans with patient volume, acuity, and department needs
• Monitoring delays in care transitions and collaborating on solutions
• Supporting safety priorities, experience initiatives, and quality outcomes
• Partnering with physicians, nurses, and care teams to remove barriers
• Providingclinical guidance, escalation support, and patient care when needed

What qualifications you will need:

• Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• Emergency Nurse Pediatric Cour must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• NIH Stroke Scale must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date
• Trauma Nursing Core Course must be obtained within 1 year of employment start date
• (RN) Registered Nurse
