The 2 South Medical/Surgical Unit offers comprehensive medical services such as antibiotic treatments, wound care, advanced dressing changes, and bedside thoracentesis/paracentesis. As a Registered Nurse in this unit, you will enhance your skills caring for diverse patient populations with varying medical and surgical needs and be part of a multidisciplinary team.

This position involves night shifts, from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Providing direct nursing care.
  2. Implementing, monitoring, evaluating, updating, and revising patient care plans.
  3. Monitoring, recording, documenting, and communicating patients' conditions.
  4. Administering prescribed medications and treatments.
  5. Following physician and nursing orders.
  6. Assessing and coordinating patients' discharge needs.
  7. Educating patients and their families.

Minimum qualifications include:

  1. Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
  2. Current RN license in the state.
  3. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
  4. At least one year of current acute care RN experience (military RN experience considered).

Preferred qualifications:

  1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical requirements include the ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and moving patients, standing for extended periods, and working under stressful conditions. Personal protective equipment must be used as required.
