Job summary

Corewell Health's Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids is seeking an experienced nurse for the 4G surgical unit on a part-time night shift (7:00pm–7:30am), Fridays and Saturdays, 24 hours per week.

The role delivers nursing care per ANA standards, supporting colorectal surgery patients and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. AAS in Nursing required, RN license in Michigan, and BLS within 90 days; Bachelor's in Nursing within 5 years preferred.

Qualifications

• Associates in Nursing required.
• Bachelor's in Nursing required within 5 years.
• MI RN license required.
• BLS/ACLS within 90 days required.

Responsibilities

4G is a 22-bed surgical unit specializing in the care of patients undergoing colorectal surgery as part of treatment for conditions such as colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, bowel obstructions, bowel perforations, Crohn's disease, colitis, and volvulus. People are drawn to 4G for its strong teamwork, supportive culture, expert surgical nursing practice, and close collaboration with a multidisciplinary care team. Scope of work

Delivers nursing care responsibly and accountably as described professionally by the American Nurses Association (ANA) and legally by the State of Michigan. Demonstrates competency through the critical thinking model known as the nursing process. This includes assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Upholds the standards of professional performance as described by the ANA. This includes ethical practice, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice and research, quality of practice, professional practice evaluation, resource utilization and environmental health. Strives to achieve optimal outcomes.
