Job summary

Lake Charles Memorial Hospital is seeking a Registered Nurse to join the patient care team. The RN will provide hands‑on patient care, assess and plan using the nursing process, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team from admission through discharge.

Qualifications

• Graduate of School of Nursing.
• Current Louisiana Registered Nurse license or compact state license.
• BLS‑CPR Certified.
• Ability to read, write and speak intelligible English; communicate effectively with superiors, peers, and others on one‑to‑one basis.
• Requires emotional stability and resilience; must be adaptable to change, be decisive, and demonstrate foresight.

Responsibilities

• Uses the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate the plan of care.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary team from admit to discharge.
• Administers medications and uses unit equipment appropriately.
• Organizes patient care and unit activities with delegation as needed.
• Educates patients and families, and documents accordingly.
• Documents accurately per department policy.
• Participates in Unit PI plan and continuous improvement.
• Huddles, hourly rounding, bedside reporting and Service Excellence practices.
