Job summary

MaineGeneral Health System in Maine is seeking an experienced RN to join our Rehab & Long-Term Care education team as a CNA Instructor on a per diem basis. The role focuses on teaching, mentoring, and guiding nursing assistants and students preparing for healthcare careers.

This RN instructor will develop curricula, monitor student progress, ensure safety in clinical settings, and collaborate with academic partners. Minimum 2 years RN, 1 year LTC, and valid Maine RN license are required.

Qualifications

• Current State of Maine Registered Nurse License (or ability to obtain promptly)
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as an RN
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Long-Term Care facility
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
• A passion for teaching, mentoring, and helping others succeed
• Ability to create a positive, engaging learning environment for students

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with academic and administrative leadership to assess needs and objectives
• Develop teaching outlines and teaching aids; apply learning principles across formats
• Monitor students’ progress and provide resources to support success
• Supervise students, track attendance and completion of skills per state requirements
