Job summary

A healthcare provider in Colorado Springs is seeking a professional nurse who will coordinate patient care and provide support adhering to standards. The ideal candidate will have completed an accredited nursing program and have at least one year of nursing experience, ideally in oncology.   • Coordinate patient care with both internal and outside entities.

  • Assists in patient education and follow up after initial chemotherapy regimens
  • Assists physicians with IKM chemotherapy regimens
  • Manages electronic and call in prescriptions and management of narcotic and chemotherapy refill requests
  • Assists with calling patients lab results and scan as needed
  • Assists the MA staff with disability and FMLA paperwork
  • Acts as a liaison between physicians outside resources
  • Acts a liaison between the infusion suite and the physicians/mid-level providers

Job description

Under general supervision, provides professional nursing care for patients adhering to national and company standards and guidelines for specialty regulations. Demonstrates knowledge of physiological, psychological, and developmental and age specific differences in the patient population including late adolescence, adulthood, middle age, and the elderly. Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to provide for assessment and therapeutic management of patient/family needs. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include the Code of Ethics and Business Standards.
