Job summary

UNC Health Care System is seeking a senior professional to oversee all aspects of clinical research administration at UNC Medical Center Cancer Center Research Raleigh. Qualifications

• Five years of clinical research experience with management responsibilities.
• Clinical research certification preferred.
• Hospital-based research experience preferred.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for efficient staffing to meet research department needs.
• Provides direction for the clinical research operation in accordance with ICH GCP guidelines and based on established regulatory, professional, organizational standards.
• Prepares and maintains accountability for research departmental budget and utilization of resources.
• Promotes collaboration among physicians, members of the healthcare team, and other departments to maximize viable clinical trials.
• Works collaboratively with medical staff and appropriate department representatives to determine feasibility of studies and process trials through committees until enrollment.
• Develops and maintains mechanism to track each clinical trial opened including key indicators for regular reports.
• Assures active Medical Staff involvement to identify clinical trial opportunities and obtain PI involvement.
• Responsible for ensuring collaboration with study sponsors and monitors to meet study milestones.
• Responsible for sound financial management by negotiating study budgets and contractual milestones.
