CN II per diem opportunity with UNC Medical Center Emergency Department
The Emergency Department at UNC Medical Center Chapel Hill campus is a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment providing collaborative, evidenced-based, patient-centered emergency services to over 65,000 patients a year. We are a designated Level 1 Adult and Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center serving as North Carolina's primary referral hospital as well as serving the surrounding communities of Orange County.
Emergency Department staff collaboratively operate as a unified team across two distinct units – the Main ED (adults) and the Pediatric ED (children) - providing care for patients of all ages from neonates to geriatrics. The UNC Medical Center has a separate, dedicated Psych Emergency Department which works closely with our larger Emergency Department. At UNC Medical Center your experience is valued, and your contributions make a difference for patients and families.
One year of nursing experience required, Emergency experience preferred. We will provide training to meet individual needs. Orientation includes both 1:1 preceptor and classes.
ACLS, PALS, CPI, and TNCC are standard expectations. ENPC is recommended.
Per Diem positions require a commitment to work 24 hours a month at a minimum, 1 summer, and 1 winter holiday shift. As a per diem employee, you do not receive benefits and are an at-will employee.
Summary: Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards. Reporting and accountable to the Nurse Manager/Director, the Clinical Nurse is responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.

● Graduation from a school of professional nursing.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina. Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
Professional Experience Requirements:
● One (1) year of relevant and current experience required
