Job summary

UNC Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Home Health in North Carolina. This role provides one-on-one, holistic care in patients’ homes with a full-time schedule, weekdays plus some weekends and on-call rotations.

A valid NC RN license is required and 2–3 years Med/Surg experience is preferred. You will travel to patient homes within the assigned region, conduct assessments, develop care plans and coordinate with the care team to ensure high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years of Med/Surg nursing preferred; Home Health experience preferred; ICU or ED experience may be considered.
• Foundational skills include wound care, infusions, line and catheter care.
• Ability to deliver personalized care based on each patient’s needs and environment.
• Must be able to travel to patient homes within assigned region and manage own schedule.
• Current/active RN license in North Carolina

Responsibilities

• Deliver one-on-one, holistic home health nursing care.
• Assess, plan, implement and evaluate patient care in home settings.
• Travel to patient homes within the assigned region to provide care.
• Manage on‑call rotations as required and coordinate with the care team.
• Utilize OASIS data collection when applicable

Salary Range:

$34.22 - $48.38 per hour (Hiring Range). Also eligible for incentives, on‑call pay, and shift/weekend/holiday differentials

Schedule:

Full‑time, 40 hours/week. Monday‑Friday day shift with some weekend and on‑call rotations.

We're Looking for RNs Who

• Have 2–3 years of Med/Surg (preferred); Skilled Home Health (preferred); Will consider ICU or ED experience
• Bring strong foundational skills, such as wound care, infusions, lines and catheter care
• Are skilled at delivering personalized care based on each patient’s unique needs and environment
• Are confident working independently and managing their own schedules Have personal vehicle and current/active auto insurance
• Are able to travel to patient homes within assigned region
• Are available for medically necessary on‑call (1 weekday/week and 1 weekend/month)
• OASIS experience is preferred, but not required.

Education Requirements

Graduation from a school of professional nursing.

Licensure/Certification Requirements

Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of North Carolina.

Professional Experience Requirements

One (1) year of nursing experience caring for acute and chronically ill patients or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
