Job summary

Washington University in St. Louis seeks an RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator to support hepatobiliary and GI surgical patients through coordinated care, education, and communication across teams.

This primarily administrative and coordination role blends outpatient clinic support with scheduling, chart preparation, and follow-up, with a Monday–Friday schedule and a mix of clinic and administrative days. A flexible option allows one day/week work-from-home after 6 months.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program with two years of nursing experience.
• Current RN licensure in the state of Missouri and/or Illinois, per Compact Act.
• BLS Certification required or obtained within one month of employment.
• Experience with Electronic Health Records (EHR), preferably Epic, and ability to document clearly.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care and scheduling across multidisciplinary teams.
• Assist with patient education before and after procedures.
• Respond to InBasket messages and coordinate referrals to external sources.
• Maintain clinical workflow and ensure compliance with safety and quality protocols.
• Liaise between patients, families, and health team members to facilitate care.
