Galen College of Nursing in Nevada seeks an RN Clinical Learning Manager to oversee day-to-day operations of clinical education experiences for nursing students.

You will ensure compliance, coordinate with the Director of Clinical Learning, and collaborate with faculty to maintain quality clinical placements across programs.

The role requires an NV RN license, BSN, and at least two years in clinical education; MSN/doctorate preferred. Strong communication and data skills are essential.

Position Overview:

To implement and manage the day-to-day operations of clinical education experiences for nursing students within their assigned program(s). The CLM may assist with identification, negotiation, arrangement, standardization, and evaluation of all clinical experiences as needed with the support of campus leadership.

The CLM will focus on logistical, compliance, and quality-monitoring tasks under the guidance and direction of the Director of Clinical Learning (DCL) or campus dean.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Outcomes

• Collect, organize, and report clinical experience data to support the Director of Clinical Learning's strategic evaluation and planning via clinical walkthrough surveys and clinical grading audits.
• Attends and supports campus committee meetings as assigned
• In collaboration with the Director of Clinical Learning, responsible for ensuring clinical quality delivery through clinical site walkthroughs for each faculty and clinical site every quarter.

2. Faculty

• Supports faculty with the resolution of student concerns regarding clinical experiences with oversight from the DCL.
• Conducts clinical faculty stay interviews, 90-day and annual evaluations for assigned adjunct clinical faculty.
• Assists with interviewing, hiring, retention, and ongoing development of clinical faculty in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Learning and Clinical Faculty Success Specialist.

3. Students

• Assists with ensuring that all students and faculty are oriented to clinical experiences and compliant with compliance requirements according to Galen and clinical agency policies in collaboration with the campus and college team.

4. Curriculum

• Implements college-wide initiatives, policy changes, and process updates with direction from the DCL.
• Supports faculty in adhering to standardized curriculum, assessment and evaluation practices, and instructional model.

5. Resources

• Assists with the execution of and maintenance of clinical affiliation agreements to ensure that records are current and comply with regulatory standards for clinical experiences.
• Collaborates with Clinical Faculty Success Specialist, as applicable, to ensure faculty readiness and preparedness for clinical learning instruction and to determine faculty teaching assignments.

6. Governance

• Ensures clinical learning experiences meet the needs of the course learning outcomes.
• Assist with identifying, negotiating, establishing, maintaining, and evaluating clinical agency partnerships and satisfaction to ensure that a variety of clinical experiences are available for student learning and application of clinical practice under the guidance of the DCL.

7. Community Outreach

• Serves as the campus point-of-contact to clinical agencies for routine communications, concerns, and site logistics and may elevate to DCL or campus dean.

Position Requirements:

Unencumbered licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Nevada.

Education & Experience: Minimum qualification of a BSN required; MSN or doctorate degree preferred. Must meet state board of nursing requirements for clinical faculty. At least two (2) years of experience in clinical education, with a nursing background including understanding of the educational objectives and experiences of student nurses, the clinical practice of nursing, knowledge of the diverse organizational environments in which nurses practice, and knowledge of the types of clinical sites needed to meet course content and objectives. Academic nursing certification preferred.

Skills & Competencies: Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills. Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to interpret the learning experience needs of students and match them to the capabilities of clinical placement agencies. Excellent interpersonal communication skills with the ability to be creative and innovative. Proficient computer skills to collect and analyze data.
