Job summary

VCU Health System Authority seeks a Clinical Nurse I–III to deliver and document direct, age-specific nursing care as part of an integrated care plan. The role supports the health care team in preventing illness and promoting wellness, with a focus on safety and accurate medication administration.

The position requires initial licensure as an RN in Virginia (or eligible/compact state) and adherence to unit-based leadership development. RN to BSN progression is expected within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Associate Degree from an approved nursing program.
• All RNs without a Bachelor's degree must enroll in an approved RN to BSN program within two years of start date and complete within five years.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and accurately documents direct, age-specific care based on medical orders and an integrated plan of care.
• Safely administers prescribed medications, identifying incompatibilities and interactions.
• Assists the health care team with prevention of illness and injury and maintenance of wellness.
• Organizes work and delegates tasks to staff as appropriate.
