Job summary

SUNY Upstate Medical University is seeking an experienced nursing leader to provide day-to-day clinical leadership on the unit, driving patient experience, quality, and service.

The role includes orientation and onboarding of new staff, fostering growth of current employees, and active participation in the unit leadership team and Clinical Advancement Program. Experience in a specialty area is preferred.

Qualifications

• RN licensure in NYS Education Department.
• Two years post-licensure clinical nursing experience in an acute care specialty area.
• Meets NYS Civil Service requirements.
• CPR: AHA or Red Cross Professional Level BLS; online BLS not acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day leadership and clinical expertise on the unit.
• Drive customer service, quality, and patient experience.
• Manage orientation and onboarding of new staff.
• Support growth and development of current employees.
• Participate in the Clinical Advancement Program and unit leadership team.
