Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an RN Educator to coordinate planning, development, and implementation of unit education for nursing staff. You will provide bedside education, validate skills monthly, monitor competency, and serve as the education resource for nursing practice issues and new employee orientation.

The role requires>2 years of inpatient RN experience, certification timelines, and leadership in policy and standards development to ensure evidence-based practice.

Qualifications

• Must have inpatient RN experience.
• SCRN and CMSRN within 1 year; ACLS within 1 year; BLS within 30 days.
• Licensed RN in Illinois with a Bachelor’s in Nursing.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate unit educational presentations/activities, including patient education on joint replacement.
• Provide opportunities for less experienced staff to grow and develop unit skills.
• Use evidence-based practices and the latest research to inform care on the unit.
• Ensure unit policies/procedures reflect EBP and are applied consistently.
• Develop, maintain, and monitor staff competencies and records for annual review.
• Provide ROC to non-compliant staff and report to manager.
• Conduct unusual occurrence investigations and follow up (Stars System).
