Houston Methodist seeks a Clinical Documentation Specialist RN to improve the quality and completeness of clinical documentation. You will analyze medical records for DRGs, complications, and comorbidities, working with physicians and staff to ensure thorough documentation and appropriate reimbursement.

The role supports accuracy of clinical information for measuring physician and hospital outcomes and educates the care team on ongoing documentation improvements.

Qualifications

• Five years of acute care experience.
• RN licensure required (TX permanent within 60 days if establishing residency).
• Strong communication and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Improve quality, completeness and accuracy of clinical documentation.
• Analyze medical records for DRGs, complications and comorbidities.
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff and coders to optimize documentation.
• Educate patient care team on documentation and reimbursement best practices.
