Job summary

Hospice of New Jersey seeks an experienced Registered Nurse to step into the Clinical Director role and lead a compassionate team of RNs, aides, social workers, and chaplains. You will collaborate with the Program Director, Hospice Physician, and Community Liaisons to drive patient-centered care and ensure adherence to federal and state guidelines.

The position emphasizes strong leadership, clinical excellence, and emotional intelligence, with a Monday–Friday schedule and occasional on-call

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in nursing or health care preferred.
• Registered Nurse with a current state license to practice as a professional nurse in the state the office is located.
• Minimum of 3 years experience as a nurse, including 1 year of full time direct patient care in hospice, home health or oncology, and 1 year of supervisory experience in hospice or home health care preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to manage terminal care with expertise in crisis intervention, pain and symptom control, clinical bedside nursing, and family counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to implement a supportive, sensitive approach to staff and patient/family needs.
• Must be proficient in typing and EMR, with CPR certification if required by state.
• Current driver’s license, vehicle insurance, and transportation.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee a spectrum of patient services, ensuring alignment with hospice program policies.
• Provide guidance and support to an amazing team of clinicians, fostering ongoing improvement of hospice care services.
• Conduct chart audits and ensure medical record upkeep for compliance with regulations and standards.
• Participate in crafting orientation and in-service training for nursing and clinical staff.
• Evaluate and uplift clinical staff performance during probation and annually, offering teaching and counseling to improve service delivery.
• Lead interdisciplinary team meetings to refine Care Plans and share insights.

Responsibilities

• Champion Comprehensive Patient Support: Coordinate and oversee a spectrum of patient services, ensuring alignment with established hospice program policies.
• Empowering Teams: Provide guidance and support to an amazing team of clinicians, fostering continuous enhancement of hospice care services provided.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct meticulous chart audits, overseeing medical record upkeep for compliance with regulations, certification standards, and ethical care benchmarks.
• Training Excellence: Participate in crafting orientation and in-service training for nursing & clinical staff, nurturing their growth across all proficiency levels.
• Performance Advancement: Evaluate and uplift clinical staff performance during probation and annually, offering valuable teaching and counseling to enhance the delivery of services from our clinicians.
• Collaborative Leadership: Lead interdisciplinary team gatherings to refine patient/family Care Plans, encouraging the exchange of insights, resolution of challenges, and nurturing professional camaraderie.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage all aspects of terminal care with expertise in crisis intervention, pain and symptom control, clinical bedside nursing, and family counseling.
• Demonstrated ability to execute a supportive, sensitive approach to staff and patient/family needs.
• Must be computer proficient in typing and various programs, including background in EMR.
• Possess and maintains current CPR certification if required by state.
• Current driver's license, vehicle insurance, and access to dependable transportation.

$115,000 - $120,000 per year (Average Salary Range). The pay range listed represents a general guideline for the role and is not a guarantee of the final offer. Compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s relevant experience and the specific responsibilities of the position. Final compensation rate will be discussed and confirmed at the conclusion of the interview process.
