Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Clinical Decisional Unit in Chicago, IL. This full-time night-shift role (7p–7:30a) requires one year of staff nurse experience and preferred cardiac telemetry/critical care background.

You may float to other inpatient units and will work every other weekend and rotating holidays. Responsibilities include applying the nursing process, maintaining current practice, supervising staff, and ensuring safe, high-quality patient care with timely

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Illinois Nursing licensure.
• American Heart Association CPR certification.
• ACLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
• NIHSS certification within one month of hire.
• PALS/NRP may be required within six months depending on unit requirements.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, diagnose, plan, implement, and evaluate the delivery of nursing care.
• Maintains competency reflecting current standards of practice.
• Interacts with peers and contributes to professional development.
• Promotes safety measures to prevent patient and staff injuries.
• Guides and supervises staff in patient care.
• Documents thoroughly and timely.

Job description

Hourly Pay Range:

$36.00 - $55.80 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Endeavor Health is currently conducting a comprehensive review of our compensation structure. The new minimum for this role will be adjusted to $37.25 base pay hourly rate beginning with the second paycheck in October.

Position Highlights:

The Clinical Decisional Unit is a low acuity unit that monitors and evaluates patients for an observation period of up to 16 hours. During the stay, a decision is made whether to discharge or admit the patient. If you enjoy a fast-paced, hospital-based patient care environment, this may be the unit for you!

• Full Time (36 hours/week)
• Hours: Nights (7p-730a); every other weekend and rotating holidays required
• Required Travel: May float to other inpatient units as needed.

What you will need:

• At least one year of experience as a staff nurse preferred
• At least 1 year of Cardiac Tele Experience preferred
• Critical Care experience is preferred
• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
• Demonstrates mastery of nursing skills.
• Communicates effectively and is able to guide and supervise nursing personnel.
• Current Illinois Nursing licensure
• American Heart Association CPR Certification
• American Heart Association ACLS Certification required with in 3 months of hire
• NIHSS Certification within one month of hire
• PALS, NRP may be required within six months depending on the unit requirements
